Whether we're working one-on-one, in a classroom, or from a conference stage, my work is rooted in the same belief: Awareness precedes expression. The more we understand ourselves, the more honestly we can communicate with others.

Through coaching, workshops, and speaking, I help comedians, performers, educators, leaders, and creative teams develop stronger communication, greater presence, and the confidence to trust their own perspective.

I don't believe great performers are the loudest people in the room. I think they're the most aware.

My coaching isn't about becoming someone else. It's about becoming more intentional about who you already are.

Together we'll explore your voice, your point of view, your relationship to an audience, and the habits that either support or interfere with authentic expression. We'll work on:

  • Finding your comedic point of view

  • Writing stronger, more personal material

  • Understanding your performance habits

  • Stage presence & communication

  • Holding the room without chasing it

  • Nervous system regulation under pressure

  • Trusting your instincts

  • Preparing for performances, auditions, & career-defining moments

My goal isn't to make you sound like me.

It's to help you understand yourself well enough that no one else could sound like YOU.

4-Session Coaching Intensive
$450.00

A 4-session coaching package designed for deeper growth over time. This is ideal for building momentum, accountability, & a more grounded creative process!

What’s Included?

1. Discovery & Goal Setting

We begin with a deep-dive consultation to understand your goals, challenges, background, and what success looks like for you. We define clear & measurable goals so you always know exactly what you’re working toward and how you’ll get there.

2. Personalized Coaching Syllabus

Based on your needs, I create a tailored coaching syllabus; a clear roadmap designed specifically for you. This outlines the key focus areas, priorities, & progression of your sessions.

What might your 4 sessions look like?

SESSION 1
THE MATERIAL MIRROR - Voice, POV + Material
What does your material already tell us about who you are? We identify recurring themes, contradictions, behaviors, and worldview to uncover what's uniquely yours.

SESSION 2
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE AUDIENCE - Presence + Connection
Explore where your attention goes while performing, how you relate to the room, and how to stay connected without chasing approval.

SESSION 3
MAKING THE MATERIAL LIVE - Performance + Responsiveness
Work with pacing, listening, physicality, receiving laughter, and keeping rehearsed material alive and responsive.

SESSION 4
INTEGRATION + NEXT STEPS
Bring the work together and leave with specific tools, experiments, and a plan for continued growth.

This is just one example. Your syllabus is built around you. Your four sessions might focus on stage fright, joke writing, crowd work, building an hour, preparing for a specific performance, finding your voice, physical presence, or something else entirely!

3. Structured 1:1 Coaching Sessions

Each session follows your personalized plan while staying flexible to what you need in the moment. We focus on clarity, problem-solving & forward movement.

5. Action Steps & Accountability

After each session, you’ll receive practical next steps, exercises, and “homework” designed to reinforce progress between sessions. This may include applying our work in real time, & I can provide feedback on implementation if you choose to share recordings or updates!

6. Resources & Support

You’ll receive curated frameworks & resources tailored to your goals, whether that’s mindset, habits, performance, career, or personal growth.

7. Ongoing Guidance & Adjustments

As you progress, your plan evolves. We continuously refine your approach based on what’s working, ensuring you stay on track & moving forward!

Where Comedy Meets Communication

Comedy is more than entertainment. It's one of the most powerful ways to understand ourselves, connect with others, and communicate with intention.

Drawing from over twenty years as a professional comedian, educator, and speaker, I create workshops that use comedy & performance to help people become more aware of themselves, more present with others, and more confident expressing their ideas.

Whether I'm working with students, artists, educators, or corporate teams, the goal is the same: helping people communicate with greater authenticity.

Participants don't just learn how to be funny. They learn how to listen, adapt, trust themselves, & connect with the people in front of them.

Workshop Topics

FINDING YOUR VOICE
What makes you sound like you?
Finding your voice isn’t about inventing a persona. It’s about recognizing what’s already there. Through material, perspective, patterns, and point of view, participants learn to identify what is uniquely theirs and communicate from a place that feels specific, grounded, and true.

THE ART OF PRESENCE
Presence isn’t confidence. It’s awareness.
What allows us to stay connected to ourselves when all eyes are on us? This workshop explores attention, awareness, and the habits that pull us away from the present moment, giving participants practical tools for becoming more available, responsive, and fully themselves in front of others.

HOLDING THE ROOM
Stop chasing the room. Start relating to it.
A room isn’t something to conquer. It’s something to be in relationship with. Participants learn how to notice what’s actually happening, receive information without immediately judging it, and respond in real time while staying connected to their own voice and intention.

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM OF PERFORMANCE
You don’t have to stop being nervous to become more present.
Stress, self-consciousness, and pressure can change the way we speak, listen, move, and connect. This workshop helps participants understand what happens when the nervous system enters the room and build greater capacity to stay available to themselves, their work, and their audience even when activation is present.

HUMOR & RESILIENCE
What becomes possible when we stop treating everything like a test?
Using principles from comedy and improvisation, participants explore play, experimentation, failure, and recovery as essential creative skills. Rather than using humor to avoid discomfort, we explore how it can help us move through uncertainty with greater flexibility, curiosity, connection, and choice.

Workshops & Educational Programs

Christi’s class was the single best thing I have done for my comedy. My comedy is so much funnier and so much more ME because of Christi’s joyful, warm and wise teaching.
— Abby Wambaugh

Humor. Communication. Human Connection.

Christi Somers speaks about what happens to us when all eyes are on us, and what allows us to stay connected to ourselves and each other anyway.

Drawing from more than two decades as a stand-up comedian and her work coaching nearly 1,000 performers, Christi uses comedy as a laboratory for exploring presence, communication, nervous-system awareness, and human connection.

Her keynotes and interactive presentations explore the invisible forces that shape how we show up: where our attention goes under pressure, what happens when we become self-conscious, how we relate to an audience, and why trying harder can sometimes take us further away from ourselves.

Blending storytelling, research, humor, and practical frameworks, Christi helps audiences become more aware, responsive, and fully themselves when it matters most.

Her work has been presented at conferences, colleges, healthcare organizations, and creative communities.

Speaking

Christi’s class was one of the best experiences I’ve had and I can’t recommend her enough. She had incredible course material, and real world knowledge to provide based on her work as a touring comedian.
— Vannessa Jackson, Writer for SNL

Who I Work With

I work with people whose job is to communicate. Whether you're stepping onto a comedy stage, into a classroom, onto a conference stage, or leading a team, communication is a performance skill.

I've worked with:

  • Comedians and performers

  • Colleges and universities

  • Schools and youth organizations

  • Healthcare professionals

  • Creative teams and artists

  • Corporate and nonprofit organizations

  • Educators and community leaders

How I Teach

Comedy isn't just about jokes. It's about attention.

The performers I admire most aren't simply funny. They're aware. They notice what's happening in themselves, in the room, and in the relationship between the two.

Together, we'll notice where you pull away from your authentic voice, where your instincts are already working, and where fear, self-consciousness, or habit might be getting in the way.

My goal isn't to give you a version of yourself to perform. It's to help you better understand the one that's already there.

My teaching is rooted in awareness, curiosity, presence, and intentionality. I ask a lot of questions. I encourage experimentation. And I believe that lasting growth comes from understanding why something works, not simply being told what to do.

After more than twenty years as a performer and educator, I've become deeply attuned to what feels alive, what feels protected, and what helps people genuinely connect.

My role is to help you trust your own voice, so that when you step on stage, into a meeting, or in front of a classroom, you're communicating from a place that feels honest, grounded, and unmistakably yours.

Christi has the two things most needed in a teacher: knowledge and compassion. She is not only a hilarious seasoned stand-up but her ability to relate and empathize helps her connect to students from every background and skill level.
— Giulia Rozzi, Comedian Writer & Actress
If you’re the kind of person who thinks, ‘Please. You can’t learn stand-up comedy in classroom,’ you’re probably right 99.9% of the time. But Christi is the other .1% She’s the best. Seriously. Take her class.
— Carson Olshansky; Rising NYC Stand-Up Comedian
